Documentary on Skin Tone Discrimination for Johnson & Johnson's Clean & Clear.
We went on an adventure filming for the brand, Johnson & Johnson with the online sensation Sejal Kumar to find out what teenagers think about the prejudices around skin tones, with the hash-tag #everyFaceIsBright.
Sejal travelled across Mumbai and Jaipur to meet 6 beautiful girls and have an honest conversation with them about this issue! This was an optimistic and inspiring Social Video campaign to help to dispel the prevalent notion in India that "fairer skin is better” with heart-warming stories, experiences and attitudes of Indian teenagers, most of whom had confronted skin discrimination in some form.
The shoot dates coincided with heavy rainfall and thunderstorm warnings in Mumbai. Based on how the weather was behaving, we were continuously altering our plans, running for shelter and sometimes getting drenched. While the whole shoot was full of excitement, the most fun we had was making the cops believe that we were doing a pre-wedding shoot for Sejal with her friends. This was when we were questioned about filming without permission on the seaside which was looking so beautiful after a downpour that the Director decided to shoot there. A quick digital invitation was created as proof and it worked so well that a shocked Sejal was congratulated on her upcoming wedding by 2 very excited cops.
